The magnificent Clifftop Lodge, which nestles in the malaria free Welgevonden Game Reserve of South Africa, offers a dramatic fusion of Western and African flavors in the cuisine. Game Drives
The Clifftop Lodge offers game drive safaris in open four-wheel drive vehicles. The Welgevonden Private Game Reserve is one of South Africa’s premier private game reserves in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The reserve is home to an abundance of lion, leopard, white rhino, elephant, cheetah, brown hyena and many other animal species.

Malaria Status and Animals
The Waterberg Mountains of South Africa offer an incredible malaria-free game reserve. Today the area of the Welgevonden Game Reserve is home to lion, leopard, elephant, white rhino, cheetah, wild dog, brown hyena and a variety of buck.
Many different bird species can also be observed here, either on safaris or from the comfort of the deck.

Access to the Clifftop Lodge by air:
Guests have the opportunity to fly directly from the OR Tambo International in Johannesburg or the Lanseria Airport to the reserves landing strip. Guests are collected and transferred to the lodge which is a 1.5-hour drive.
Access to the Clifftop Lodge by road:
1. Take the N1 North towards Pietersburg.
1. At the Kranskop toll gate go left towards Modimolle.
3. Pass through Modimolle towards Vaalwater.
4. Pass through Vaalwater to the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve East Gate entrance.
5. Turn left at the entrance and travel for 10 km.
