The Garonga Safari Camp in the Makalali Conservancy, which lies about a 6 hours drive from Johannesburg and 1.5 hours from both the Phalaborwa and the Hoedspruit airports. • Main Lodge: The Camp reflects the natural, earthy colours of its bushveld surroundings providing guests with luxury, pure comfort, and closeness to Africa's wilderness.
• Tented Rooms: The luxury tents are set in a unique way to overlook the dry riverbed. Each of these luxury tents features a wooden deck which is complete with a hammock from where scenic views of the bushveld can be admired. The tents are light and airy while offering plenty of space as well as large, draped beds. Additionally to the indoor shower of the tents, guests may make use of the outdoor shower which provides for a unique bush experience.

Safari drives are available to guests twice daily in the company of experienced guides and trackers whose knowledge of the landscape and species which inhabit it are sure to provide guests with a memorable experience. Also available at Garonga is the option to take a walking safari with their armed ranger, or spend a night under the stars at the romantic sleep.

The Makalali Conservancy covers some 20 000 hectares of pristine bushveld in South Africa which is intersected by seasonal watercourses and dotted with plains and wooded areas. The diverse habitat lends itself to habitation by numerous different species, including 4 of the "Big 5", lion, leopard, rhino and elephant (no free-roaming buffalo at the moment), giraffe, zebra, and warthog. Birdlife is also abundant and well represented, making this a haven for keen bird-watchers.

Little Garonga

The main lodge at Little Garonga offers guests access to an indoor as well as an outdoor lounge area. The covered breakfast deck outside comfortably accommodates diners while spectacular views of the scenic bushveld are enjoyed. The pool area at the main lodge at Little Garonga provides guests with a swimming pool with comfortable loungers where guests are welcome to relax in tranquillity.

Furthermore, Little Garonga's main lodge offers air-conditioned comfort in the spacious dining area, the inviting lounge and a seating area equipped with a fireplace and a self-service bar.

The Hambleden Suite consists of one main bedroom as well as an additional separate bedroom which can accommodate two children, making this luxurious suite ideal for couples and small families. For the comfort of the guests, the Hambleden Suite is fully air-conditioned. 

The suite's indoor as well as outdoor lounge are both covered and provides guests with great space to dine and relax. The spacious bathroom features an excellent hand-beaten copper bathtub, an indoor and outdoor shower is also available. The Hambleden Suite offers its private swimming pool with a raised deck, hammock, and mini-bar.
Chiltern & Buckingham Suite

The exclusive Chiltern and the Buckingham Suite are ideal for couples. Both of these stunningly beautiful suites are fully air-conditioned, provide a covered deck, a hammock as well as a lounge and bedroom. The bathrooms at these two exclusive suites consist of a bath, basins and shower with a large outdoor shower also being available.

The Sleep Out Deck at Garonga provides for a memorable experience in the bushveld. The outdoor swimming pool offers a refreshment during the warm afternoons between the safari activities. An excellent collection of fine South African wines is in the lodge's wine cellar.
