Kambaku River Sands Reviews & Information

Use the drop down below to find out more information about Kambaku River Sands.

Regally situated on a dry river bank, the Kambaku River Sands Lodge provides a relaxed environment for guests to relax and experience the real African bushveld while small and big game wanders through the camp. The word Kambaku means 'solitary bull elephant.' In the previous century, the “magnificent seven” roamed the Kruger Park and were well known for their impressive tusks. It was not uncommon for the weight of just one Tusk being over 60kg.

Accommodation

Secluded viewing decks and tasteful décor are the cornerstones of the fabulous suites at the Lodge, which offer remarkable views of the river bed or the adjacent bushveld. Guests can pander to the elegance of their suites while protected from the local bugs with mosquito netting on the sliding doors and drape on the beds.

Facilities

While elephants drink water out of the lodge’s swimming pool, guests can enjoy a chilled drink at the bar which is ideally situated to view the elephants at play. A wine cellar offers a varied selection of South Africa’s favourite wines and is well positioned to see the waterhole frequented by natural wildlife.

Incredible meals are available in the relaxed yet stylish setting of the lodge; ensuring long-term memories for all those that dine at the lodge. Two large fireplaces are situated in the expansive lounge making the communal lounge the ideal spot for cool winter evenings. The lodge’s curio shop stocks a selection of handmade items made by the local people, as well as clothing and other souvenirs.

A swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam rooms are on offer to all of the lodge’s guests. The spa provides the opportunity to relax while enjoying the experience of the African bush.
