Ecca Lodge has wooden viewing decks at the lodge offer a welcoming setting from which to best enjoy the relaxed and natural bushveld atmosphere with a delicious lunch or a refreshing sundowner drink. Accommodation is provided in six spacious and well-appointed suites each of which stands on its offering much privacy and exclusivity. Children of all ages are welcome at the Ecca Lodge with the suites being able to accommodate two children under the age of 16 together with their parents. From the wooden deck, magnificent bushveld views can be admired while enjoying the unique sounds and smells of its surrounding.
Many exciting outdoor activities are on offer which includes game drives through this "Big Five", malaria-free reserve, walking safaris, rhino tracking, as well as private specialised photographic safaris.

Children 5 years and younger can unfortunately not participate in game drives unless a sole-use safari vehicle is booked. Based on availability, this private vehicle can be provided at no charge. These trips with children usually take place during the day between the scheduled early morning and afternoon/evening game drives. Kids between the ages of 6 to 11 may join the scheduled game drives at the discretion of the lodge's manager.
Furthermore, kids have the opportunity to participate in the ‘Stripes & Hooves’ adventure at Ecca Lodge, which is a one hour morning game drive after breakfast to view the reserves 'non-aggressive’ game which includes giraffes, zebras, monkeys, warthogs and others.
Besides the game drives, children have many other exciting activities to look forward to which include baking, art and craft, chocolate mould making and many other.

Early morning game drives, as well as afternoon / evening game drives, provide visitors with an excellent opportunity to explore the game reserve with its many animals. Up close encounters with the "Big Five" (rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard and lion) as well as other game and buck are thrilling.
While walking through the bushveld accompanied by an armed ranger, guests learn more about the little animals as well as about the plants and flowers in the reserve. Tracking big game such as elephants, rhinos and buffaloes on foot in the wilderness, makes for an unforgettable experience.
Save the Rhino Drive
Guests may spend 3 to 4 hours tracking a rhino with a specialist tracker and ranger team through the reserve. Private Photographic Safaris
For the private specialist photographic safaris, a safari vehicle with ranger and tracker are available whereby each experience is tailor made according to guests’ individual requirements and wished. During the photographic game drives, the photographer joins the guests on the vehicle providing them with advice of camera settings for different scenarios and answers any questions relating to photography.

Direct flights from Port Elizabeth to the Lodge's Airstrip takes around 30 minutes. Flights directly to the Game Reserve are scheduled for early afternoon, to allow arriving guests to enjoy an afternoon game drive on their day of arrival.
Guests are advised to fly to Port Elizabeth and proceed to Kwandwe by road or air transfer. The distance from Port Elizabeth to Kwandwe is 160km (100 miles) and can be comfortably covered by road in 1 hour and 45 minutes.
On arrival, guests will leave their vehicle at the car park at Heatherton Towers and will be transferred to the Lodge of their choice by an open safari vehicle.
On site parking facilities are provided for guests.
