The luxurious Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve, Sabi Sand is built on a hill overlooking a natural waterhole. The perennial Sand River is a sanctuary for many bird species and is home to wallowing hippos and basking crocodiles.
The game-rich reserve covers over 10 000 hectares of unspoilt African bushveld in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park of South Africa.
Each of the well-appointed, glass-fronted suites at the lodge, complete with their own sundeck and rock plunge pool, provide beautiful views of the untamed African bushveld beyond, while air-conditioning and overhead fans provide welcoming refreshment against the harsh African heat.
The romantic bathrooms, which include double indoor and outdoor showers, offer windows, which open to a breathtaking view of the passing cavalcade below. Guests at the lodge may enjoy the privacy of their chalet and salute the timelessness of Africa over a refreshing drink from their fully stocked minibar. Back at the lodge after the thrilling early morning and late afternoon game drives, guests are spoilt by the highest standards of service and delicious fine cuisine. The welcoming wine cellar at the lodge offers racks of famous local and international wines to complement the fine meals.
Guests are invited to cool down on the open-air verandah, relax in the lounge with a drink, and sink below the refreshing surface of the swimming pool. The library at the lodge in Sabi Sands offers a wonderful setting of tranquillity and peace, where visitors are welcome to browse through a large selection of literature and African journals.
