The Mopiri Camp located on the North-West side of the Okavango Delta in Botswana, positioned on the banks of the river offering a perfect water-side African Safari camp experience. Homed in seven spacious en-suite tents overlooking the Weboro Lagoon providing panoramic views. Meandering boardwalks connect the main area to the tents offering privacy and the opportunity to explore the island.
Each tent is light and airy, with mosquito nets draped over the beds which can be made into two singles or double beds. The bathrooms are adjoined to the rooms by a short passage which makes the most of the view overlooking the lagoon, with a separate bathroom providing a large rain shower, a twin sink unit and a toilet.
The main area has a large dining room, accompanied by a separate comfortable lounge area. A sparkling swimming pool positioned with views over the flood plain; ideal for dipping into after a day of safari adventures. There is an open wooden deck with wonderful views of the lagoon with hidden seating areas and a warming fire pit, perfect for laying beside and admiring the spectacle of the night stars.
The boma, located in the middle of the island, is where the traditional evenings are held allowing you to enjoy the musicality of the Mopiri choir and taste the local cuisine. Hosted by the Mopiri owners, a renowned chef, you will be served delicious meals both influenced by regional dishes alongside international favourites in a variety of al fresco locations.
Spend your days enjoying mokoro-boat rowing, relaxing Day-Boat safaris, taking bush & bird walks hosted by the Wild Bird Trust, fishing trips (Bream, Tiger Fish, African Pike, Barbel). Basic fishing gear will be available at the camp, however, you are welcome to bring more advanced equipment should you prefer. Take an overnight trip to private fly camps (incorporating boat trips, bush walks, Mokoro trips, cultural tours and fishing).
The Mopiri staff are happy to organise sundowners and private dinners for you enjoyed aboard the double-storey barge under the African night sky.
