Phinda Private Game Reserve is in the Mkuze Game Reserve and the Greater St Lucia, which is a Heritage Site, the Game Reserve comprises thousands of hectares of prime conservation land.

Seven distinct habitats are home to an abundance of amazing and unique wildlife including Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo) and many bird species while the marine diversity of the nearby coast is said to rival the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

Accommodation

The safari lodges at this Reserve offer sophistication and style in the African bush.

Forest Lodge:

The luxurious 16 air-conditioned glass suites at the Forest Lodge are on stilts and appear to float between the rare Sand Forest floor and the great Torchwood trees. These exclusive suites have been built in a certain way to ensure absolute privacy. The bathrooms at the Phinda Forest Lodge feature twin hand basins, bath, separate shower and separate w.c. The suites offer a personal bar on their private veranda.

Mountain Lodge:

The Mountain Lodge features 25 air-conditioned luxurious suites each of which provides an en-suite bathroom comprising bath, shower, separate w.c. And twin hand basins. All suites offer a sitting area, personal bar and private veranda complete with plunge pool and romantic alfresco shower. The 25 suites at the Phinda Mountain Lodge include three suites with a fold-out sleeper sofa in each to accommodate a triple. A family suite with four bedrooms and a shared sitting area is also available for guests.

Vlei Lodge:

At the Vlei Lodge, one can find six stilted glass and thatch suites in the rare Sand Forest. Each suite at the Vlei Lodge provides an en suite bathroom with twin hand basins, bath, separate shower and separate w.c. A personal bar and private plunge pools are also available in the suites of the Vlei Lodge.

Rock Lodge:

Six exceptional suites which are perched on the side of a rocky cliff are at the Rock Lodge. Each suite at the Rock Lodge features a spacious bedroom with bath, shower, twin hand basins and separate w.c.

The suites provide their private sitting area, personal bar, plunge pool and deck from where magnificent views of the spectacular Leopard Rock and the valley below can be admired.

Zuka Lodge:

The beautiful Zuka Lodge is a sole-use villa for groups of up to eight guests. This lodge features only four thatched Zululand bush cottages situated 15 metres apart, featuring verandas overlooking a busy waterhole.

Sitting areas at the suites offer comfortable built-in sofas which double as beds for parents travelling with children five years and younger. The spacious air-conditioned bedrooms at the Zuka Lodge provide fans and ensuite bathrooms, with a circular stone bath chamber, shower, separate w.c and twin hand basins.

The Homestead:

The Homestead is an exclusive, sole-use villa that is ideal for families and small groups. The four spacious suites at The Homestead accommodate eight guests and feature unique sliding panel windows framing the beautiful views, and infuse a contemporary Zulu vernacular on the ambience. Ensuite bathrooms with separate w.c.’s, twin hand basins, baths, indoor and outdoor showers are available in this luxurious villa.
