The Popallin Safari Ranch nestles on the banks of the Limpopo River in South Africa's Limpopo Province. The 22,000 acres of magnificent bushveld of this safari lodge is situated only 60 kilometres from the Kruger National Park's Pafuri gate. Guests staying here can enjoy exciting wildlife encounters on safari drives in their natural habitat. The Ranch is part of a Lion and Buffalo Research Project which guests can visit.
The De Wet's Camp is fully catered for and offers 14 beautifully equipped en-suite chalets, which take guests back to a bygone era of colonial elegance. An outdoor dining area, bar facilities, and a comfortable lounge area are available for guests to enjoy while a sparkling plunge pool invites visitors to cool down in the warm African sun. The De Wet's Camp also features a well-equipped gym. Cable television, satellite phone, cell phone, fax and e-mail facilities are available to guests.
Safari drives, boat trips on the Nwanedzi River, horseback riding, guided walks, bird-watching and day trips to the Kruger National Park are available to guests staying here. A visit to the lion and buffalo breeding program is also of great interest.
Guests have the opportunity to visit the unique traditional Venda Village, and the biggest tree in Africa, the "Big Tree" Dinners at the Venda Village are highly recommended with great local entertainment and dancing. The Potholes, lovely walks and relaxing braais, 4x4 trails as well as quad bike trails are also available for enjoyment during a stay at this beautiful Ranch.
A great game of golf can be enjoyed at the D.D.V. design par 3, 4 and five golf course which ranges from 128 meters to 436 meters in length. This golf course is a nine-hole course with eighteen tees, measuring a total distance of 4010 meters. The golf course is completely fenced in and is, therefore, safe from the 'Big Five'.
They can cater to a wide variety of functions and can accommodate a maximum of 40 guests.
Functions and events:
For direct access, a gravel airstrip is available for guests at the Ranch. Guests may fly from the OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg to Polokwane and then take a road transfer from Polokwane to the Ranch. This road transfer from takes about 2 hours and the road transfer from Johannesburg direct to the Ranch in South Africa's Limpopo Province takes about 5 hours.
