The Satara Rest Camp offers guests an unforgettable African wildlife experience, located in the southern part of the Kruger and operated by SanParks.

With a variety of outdoor activities to choose from including swimming, safari drives and game walks, travellers have the chance to encounter the untamed animals in their natural habitat. The rustic thatched bungalows; cottages and guest houses offer self-catering accommodation.

The units at Satara are air-conditioned and provide bathrooms with showers or baths. The majority of the groups have their kitchen facilities, with a few of them making use of the communal kitchens. There are an also family cottages and three guest houses for those guests travelling in larger groups.

The Stanley, Wells and Rudy Frankel Guest House accommodate between six to ten guests in en-suite bedrooms. These spacious Guest Houses provide dining rooms, fully equipped kitchens as well as an outdoor terrace.

Guests of Satara can relax in the outdoor swimming pool. The camp has communal kitchens, braais and ablution as well as a restaurant and a well-stocked grocery shop. Furthermore, a laundromat, a grocery shop, a petrol station and a post box are also available.

Activities at this rest camp revolve around wildlife and the bushveld surroundings. The guided safari drives and walking safaris are an excellent way to learn about the bush and meet the animals up close. Dining in the woods, be it for breakfast or dinner, cannot be beaten. The thrilling Sweni Wilderness Trail is a pre-booked overnight activity.
