The Sweni Wilderness Trail is an overnight activity and needs to be prebooked. The Mananga 4 x 4 Adventure Trail is dependant on the weather. Both of these trails are a great adventure and allow travellers to get to know the bushveld and its wildlife very well.

When staying at Satara, it is recommended to visit the Sweni Bird Hide which lies about 30 km away from the camp. It is here where the magnificent diversity of different bird species can be admired. The Ratel Pan Bird Hide is located about 35km away from Satara.

Children are welcome to stay at this rest camp. Children under six years of age may not go on the game drives and only children 12 or over may go on the game walks.

Access via the Orpen Gate, Kruger National Park:
Head towards Nelspruit on the N4 and take the R540 Belfast turn off.
At Lydenburg turn left onto the R36 heading north.
30 km before Hoedspruit turn right onto the R531 and head to the gate.
Allow between 4 to 5 hours for the trip to the gate.
Satara camp is 48 km away from the gate.
Allow about 2 hours for the drive to the camp.

The closest airport to the Satara Rest Camp is the Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit. The airport is approximately 68 km away from the Orpen Gate.
