Named in honour of the first warden of Hwange National Park, Davison’s celebrates the traditions of the classic safari. Its setting offers a genuine connection to the wilderness, where wildlife moves freely and the pace of life follows the rhythms of nature.

Accommodation

The camp’s nine spacious en-suite tents are tucked among a peaceful grove of false mopane trees, including a dedicated family unit. Natural colours, earthy textures and understated African-inspired décor create a relaxed atmosphere that reflects the surrounding landscape.

Each tent offers views towards the camp’s waterhole, where elephants, antelope and other wildlife regularly arrive to drink. Watching animals gather from the comfort of your own tent is an unforgettable part of the Davison’s experience.

Cuisine

Dining at Davison’s showcases fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with indigenous grains and fruits adding a distinctly Zimbabwean character to the menu.

Enjoy sundowners accompanied by local snacks beside one of Hwange’s picturesque pans before returning to camp for an evening around the boma. Dinner is prepared over an open fire, adding the aromas, sounds and atmosphere of traditional bush dining to the experience.

The Area

Covering approximately 14,651 square kilometres – an area roughly half the size of Belgium – Hwange is Zimbabwe’s largest national park.

Davison’s lies within the diverse Linkwasha-Makalolo Private Wilderness Area, where teak forests, golden grasslands and Kalahari sands create a rich variety of habitats.

During the summer months, the nearby Ngamo Plains become particularly vibrant, attracting vast numbers of plains game and, inevitably, the predators that follow them.
