Dining at the Kuzuko Lodge

The restaurant at the exclusive Kuzuko Lodge in the Eastern Cape of South Africa provides various dining options for guests during their stay. These options include delicious set menus, light meals and a special menu for children.

The restaurant at the Kuzuko Lodge is open every day for brunch, high tea as well as dinner while a special deck menu is available for light lunches.  The lodge's traditional boma evenings are on offer where guests can enjoy mouth-watering meals in a magnificent bushveld setting with a variety of side dishes.

Kuzuko's Wellness Centre offers a range of health and beauty spa treatments including speciality massages, facials, reflexology, manicures and pedicures.

Treatments can be enjoyed in the Wellness Centre, around the swimming pool or in the privacy of a chalet while couples can enjoy treatments together. Teenage Pamper Parties and Small Group bookings are welcome while pre-booking is essential for all treatments.

Wildlife activities

The Addo Elephant National Park is home to one of the densest African elephant populations in the world. Today this ecosystem is a sanctuary to over 450 elephants, Cape buffalo, black rhino, a variety of antelope species, as well as the unique flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.

Conference facilities at the Kuzuko Lodge

The Kuzuko Lodge in the Eastern Cape of South Africa features state of the art conference facilities which can cater for 48 delegates. A Business Centre is also available at the lodge which provides conference delegates with unlimited free internet access, printing and photocopying facilities.Teambuilding activities can be tailor-made while a bush braai site is also available.

Children Policy
  • Children under the age of 12 with a maximum of two children per room can be accommodated on a fully inclusive basis at the Kuzuko Lodge, South Africa. 

    Children occupying their rooms will be charged a full adult rate.

Children Activities
  • The Kuzuko Lodge offers a children's activity programme which is available at an additional cost. A tiny tots jungle gym, colouring books, puzzles, DVDs, a Wii, and other indoor activities are on offer at the lodge.

    Wilderness Ramble, ages 5-10:

    Kids find local insects, lizards and other interesting visitors and plants around the lodge. Treasures can be collected for fun art activities afterwards.

    Khoisan Kids, ages 8-14:

    Experience the Karoo the Bushmen way by exploring the remnants of caves and the Khoisan painting gallery. Similar pictures can be redrawn using paint brushes made from local plants on return to the lodge.

    Kids on Safari, ages 6-15:

    A special kids safari allows children the opportunity to learn about the big and the small five and all the other critters living out there.

Social Responsibility
  • The Kuzuko Lodge in the Eastern Cape of South Africa has set new standards in staff housing, wages, working conditions, insurance and share ownership through its Workers Trust. The lodge is committed to the training, up-skilling and personal development of the staff.  

    Young adults from broken backgrounds can be selected for an eighteen-month course for ecotourism jobs held at Kuzuko, and the Lodge has employed many of the graduates of the programme.

    The Kuzuko Lodge in South Africa is committed to leaving a community friendly footprint, and the lodge has undertaken some projects including organising a nursing sister to visit the surrounding area once a month. 

    Kuzuko also ensures that all children within the community attend school and a partnership with people from disadvantaged backgrounds and train them for jobs in the hospitality industry. Many of the waiters, chefs and field guides at Kuzuko were born out of this initiative.

The Kuzuko Lodge in the Eastern Cape of South Africa offers guest 24 air conditioned luxury chalets.  Each chalet at Kuzuko provides a private lounge and deck area from where spectacular views of the dense valley below can be enjoyed.

The comfortable and well-appointed chalets feature DStv bouquet, phones, tea/coffee making facilities and en-suite bathrooms with separate bath and shower and enclosed toilet.  All rooms have twin beds and can be made up as doubles and have a foldout couch for children. Three of the chalets at the Kuzuko Lodge, South Africa, are wheelchair user accessible.

Directions

From the airport, take the N2 towards Grahamstown
- Continue for approximately 60km the road forks, carry straight on, along the N10 do not take the turn off to the N2
- Continue with the N10 past the turn-off to Nanaga Farm Stall
- After 21km continue past the town of Paterson and pass over the Olifantskop
Mountain Pass
- Continue for approximately 40km, past the Anns Villa turn-off
- Turn left at an old shop - Oom Teuns se Winkel Signage reads (R400) Jansenville / Riebeeckstad & Grahamstown
- There is a Kuzuko sign in the mouth of the turn
- Follow the R400 to Bracefield - T-Junction.
- Turn right as the Kuzuko sign directs - 23 km
- Keep left as the road forks following the Kuzuko sign boards
- Continue for approximately 12km till the sign board stating Kuzuko 11 km, turn left here
- The road gets narrower now, after 11km you will come to the Kuzuko Reception building This is a Cape style white house used as an welcome & educational centre.
- Proceed to park your car undercover. The game rangers are waiting here to whisk you off to the 5 star lodge.
