Having a private chef available makes for a great dining experience at the Kwandwe Melton Manor.  Special children meals can be requested as well as the dining times for kids can be determined on a flexible basis.  The farm-style kitchen in this safari villa allows guests to interact with the chef combining flavours to suite personal preferences.  The delicious meals are served in the dining room or around the farmhouse table on the terrace.

Game Drive

Visitors are encouraged to experience the thrill of tracking big game which includes the white rhino, the black rhino, the elephant as well as the Buffalo.  Walking on foot in the wilderness, with an armed specialist ranger and tracker team, makes for an unforgettable experience.

Interpretive Bush Walks

Guests may, in between the morning and afternoon game drives, take a look at the smaller animals as well as the plants and bushes in this reserve.  The dense euphorbia thickets are best explored when walking so that one can admire the lichen, mosses and ferns. 

Some birds of prey, as well as other species, nest in the taller trees or the canopy. The lodge's armed ranger guides the guests through this up close adventure with sightings of magnificent buffalo herds, different antelope species, warthog, giraffe, bushbuck or bushpig.

Ideally suited for families travelling with children as well as small groups of friends, the elegant Melton Manor safari villa at Kwandwe features four luxurious en-suite bedrooms.  A maximum of eight guests can be accommodated in comfort in this spacious Villa, which is booked on an exclusive basis, only one booking/guest party at a time.

Guests enjoy, during their stay in this farmhouse style safari villa, the added benefit of a private 4x4 safari vehicle, a butler and chef, as well as a professional ranger and tracker team.

The beautiful bedrooms are well appointed offering a private refuge with a veranda, a large bed as well as a butler hatch for the well loved, unobtrusive morning service.

 

Directions

Direct flights from Port Elizabeth to the Lodge's Airstrip takes around 30 minutes. Flights directly to the Game Reserve are scheduled for early afternoon, to allow arriving guests to enjoy an afternoon game drive on their day of arrival.

Guests are advised to fly to Port Elizabeth and proceed to Kwandwe by road or air transfer. The distance from Port Elizabeth to Kwandwe is 160km (100 miles) and can be comfortably covered by road in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

On arrival, guests will leave their vehicle at the car park at Heatherton Towers and will be transferred to the Lodge of their choice by an open safari vehicle.
