Mhondoro Lodge offers a unique culinary experience. A full and delicious breakfast consists of freshly baked bread, muffins and other treats. Afternoon teas offer mouth-watering home-made sweets and savories while the three-course dinners are different each day.

Mhondoro offers a wide choice of wines, many from excellent local vineyards, which are chosen by the owner with the utmost care. Mhondoro Lodge has featured an excellent recipe book of all the kitchen secrets which is available for guests.

Spa treatments include:
Mhondoro is the ideal venue for game drives and bush walks. During the game drives the Rangers will pull up at a pleasant spot for a refreshing cup of coffee or tea and delicious home-made treats or a sunset cocktail and typical African snacks, like biltong.
The bush walks and excursions are led by qualified rangers, each with their own specialization. Some specialize in the ‘Big Five’ while others track the ‘Little Five’: the wild elephant shrew, the leopard tortoise, the rhinoceros beetle, the buffalo weaver and the ant lion.
There is an additional option of organizing a visit to the Bushman paintings. This trip takes you back to when Welgevonden was home to the San tribe.
The Spa & Wellness Centre also houses a fully equipped gym with a steam room.
Babysitting can be arranged for guests before arrival. This service is on offer for an additional fee.
Please take note of the following children's policy at the Mhondoro Game Lodge:
Parents are kindly asked to sit with their children on game drives.
Children of 8 years and older, can accompany parents in the morning & evening game drives.
Children must adhere to the Rangers instructions. Should they not adhere to the Rangers instructions, safety on the drive may be compromised, and the drive will be concluded. The child/children will not be permitted on future drives.
No children under the age of 8 years are allowed on the game drives. While parents are on the morning game drive; the children will be entertained by the lodge staff, who will do fun 'Wild Africa' activities.
If the entire lodge is booked by a family, or they are the only guests booked, all the children will be permitted to accompany the family on the game drives. However, the Rangers cannot go to dangerous sightings with very young children, and this will be discussed with the family by the Rangers.
The above policy is not to inconvenience parents, but to ensure that the guest's safety and enjoyment are not compromised.
Please note that the Lodge is not surrounded by an electric fence, and has high decks with no children safety rails.
For the children, a special kids’ corner can be found in the lounge where children can play and let their imagination run riot on the Lego table.
