The main area features an elegant lounge and dining area. The restaurant offers guests magnificent views of the waterhole. Al fresco lunches are served on the terrace while candlelit dinners can be enjoyed in the main dining room or around the fire under the African sky.
Guests are offered the opportunity to view wildlife on game drives, by foot or horseback. Late afternoon game drives are ideal for spotting nocturnal species. The entire area is reserved for Ol Donyo Lodge guests meaning every wildlife experience is a private one. The lodge also features an open air hide where visitors can safely view wildlife at an exceptionally close range.
Horse safaris allow guests to navigate the landscape gracefully. The team has a range of horses to cater towards riders of all levels of experience. Guests can also experience wildlife viewing from the back of a mountain bike or join a tracking activity with the bloodhound as scents are tracked through the woodland. Guests are also invited to enjoy full day excursions to Amboseli National Park. Sole use of a safari vehicle is also available upon request.
Guests staying at Ol Donyo are offered the opportunity to visit the Maasai villages on the ranch. This authentic experience gives guests an insight into the culture of the Maasai.
Ol Donyo Lodge is on the Mbirikani Group Ranch in the Chyulu Hills National Park in SE Kenya.
The location provides breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and is directly in the path of seasonal elephant migrations. The Big Five can be spotted here upon occasion. However, cheetah, oryx, gerenuk and giraffe provide the most frequent sightings.
Eight pool suites are ideal for families. An outer central foyer connects two suites making them versatile for groups. Each bedroom features an en-suite bathroom, complete with an indoor and outdoor shower and a rooftop star bed for those who wish to spend the night under the African sky. A set of plug points is available in each room.
