Extensive tropical reefs can be found here as well as some of the most southerly coral reefs in the world. According to the Oceanographic Reserarch Institute the mix of soft and hard corals which occur here are very unique. They are inhabited by hundreds of species of coral and over 1200 species of fish, including the Coelecanth once thought to be extinct.

The beautiful sandy beaches along this Marine Reserve invite for memorable walks.  Guests may go out to sea in a semi-rigid rubber duck to experience the thrill of seeing large schools of dolphin surfing in the ocean and mighty whales up close.  The months between June to September are ideal to see the humpback whales who migrate to the warmer waters of Mozambique during this time.
