Game Drives

The lodge offers guests two Luxury Suites which feature double beds in a romantic setting, an ideal haven for couples who are celebrating a wedding anniversary, enjoying their special honeymoon or just enjoy a romantic retreat. Guests can also choose a twin bedded room if they prefer.

This luxurious family suite can accommodate two adults and two young children in adjacent rooms.  Situated on the second level of the Main Clubhouse area, this accommodation option is ideal for parents with small children or for private staff including nannies/butlers/pilots. This spacious suite does not have a private viewing deck and plunge pool, but these features are available at the main Clubhouse area of the lodge.

Madikwe's Royal Villa provides the ideal sanctuary for families which can accommodate up to four guests in 2 bedrooms.  The Master bedroom features a large four poster bed while the second bedroom for the children offers guests two separate twin beds.

Royal Villa features:

  •  Master bedroom with large four poster bed draped in a luxurious mosquito net
  •  En-suite bathroom houses a feature indoor/outdoor bath and indoor/outdoor rain showers
  •  Twin room with full en-suite and air conditioning
  •  Library and TV lounge on the second floor with viewing deck

The Sovereign House

Guests enjoy complete privacy in the magnificent, five-star Sovereign House whereby a private safari vehicle and guide are available exclusivly to guests staying at this villa.

Directions

Directions to the Royal Madikwe Luxury Safari Lodge from Johannesburg:

Follow the N1 North to Pretoria.
From Pretoria N1 take the N4 Highway to Rustenburg.
Keep to the N4, which bypasses Rustenburg and head for Swartruggens.
There is a ZAR75 toll gate at Swartruggens.
From Swartruggens, continue to Zeerust. Please ignore all signs to Madikwe before Zeerust and enter the town itself.
On entering the city of Zeerust, we advise that you fill your vehicle with either petrol/diesel.
There is one other gas station after this point; approximately 20 minutes drive from the lodge.
At 4th intersection into the town of Zeerust, there is a sign indicating the R49/R47 to GABORONE to the right.
Travel approximately 90km along this road towards Gaborone and then look for the WONDERBOOM GATE into the Madikwe Game Reserve on your right.
Wonderboom Gate is the second gate on this road. (Do not turn into the first gate which is the Abajaterskop Gate.)
The gate will radio the camp to notify them of your arrival.
Once through the gate, take the first turn to your right where you see a sign indicating LODGES to your right and follow the road until you see the Royal Madikwe sign on your left.

On site parking facilities are provided for guests.
