Dining

Delicious breakfasts are served either at the camp or in the riverbed or bush.  Lunch is followed by the exciting afternoon game drive which extends into the evening to view nocturnal species as the night begins.

Upon returning to the lodge, a gourmet dinner awaits guests either in the outdoor boma or the elegant dining venue.  Guests are welcome to socialize with a cognac, single malt or cigar around the crackling campfire before returning to bed for another day's adventure.

Game drives

Being home to the "Big Five" which include leopards, lions, elephants, buffaloes as well as rhinos and elephants, adventurous early morning and late afternoon/evening game drives await guests when staying at the Simbambili Game Lodge.  Professional game rangers guide these 4x4 wildlife tours through the game-rich reserve and share their knowledge of the local flora and fauna found here.

Directions

Directions from Johannesburg to the Simbambili Game Lodge:

Take the N12 to eMalahleni (Witbank), where the N12 highway links up with the N4 highway.
Continue with the N4 in the direction Mbombela (Nelspruit).
Approximately 30 km past Middleburg takes the R 540 to your left.
Travel through the town of eMakhazeni (Belfast) and eMnotweni (Dullstroom) to Mashishing (Lydenburg).
Take the R 36 (which becomes the R 527) towards Hoedspruit, passing through Ohrigstad and descending the Able Erasmus Pass.
Approximately 68 km past Ohrigstad takes the R 531 to your right.
Continue 33 km and towards Bushbuckridge, turn left at Acornhoek and travelled through Acornhoek.
Continue the road until you get to Hluvukani (33 km).
At Hluvukani, you will see the Viva Garage on your right.
Continue straight for 7 km on a tar road towards Manyelethi.
Turn right at the Sabi Sand sign.
This is a dirt road.
Continue this road for 6.5 km until you reach a T-junction always following Sabi Sand signs
Turn left at this T-Junction.
You will pass the villages of Utah and Dixie. From the Utah Trading Store, which is on your right, it is about 7.2km until you reach the Gowrie Gate entrance to the Sabi Sand Game Reserve.
Here you will be required to pay an entrance fee.
Please note the Gowrie Gate is only open between 5:00am (05h00) & 11:00pm (23h00).
Turn immediately right at the Gowrie Gate, and follow the fence line to the Lodge.
Simbambili is approximately 6km from Gowrie Gate.

Please note:
DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER GATE THAN GOWRIE GATE. YOU CAN NOT ENTER THE RESERVE AT ANY OTHER GATE TO GET TO SIMBAMBILI.
