Dining at Tuli Safari Lodge

During a stay at Tuli Safari Lodge, guests can enjoy tea/coffee served in the lounge, refreshments served in the bush while on activities, brunch in the lodge, high tea (including savoury and sweet options) served in the lounge or on the bar deck and drinks and dinner in the lodge.

Game Drives or Walking Safaris

Bush walks at the Tuli Safari Lodge in Botswana provide guests with an excellent opportunity to experience Africa at a slow pace.

Tuli prides themselves on a personalised approach and can accommodate a guests’ particular interests or requirements. Two guided game activities per day are included in your stay, including game drives and bush walks. However, additional activities can be arranged.

Children must be over 12 years of age to participate in bush walks. Guests are also invited to spend time in the bird hides as part of a morning or afternoon drive or in your own time. There is also the option of sleeping out at the hides overnight, subject to availability. An after dinner drive is available as an optional extra for the chance to spot some nocturnal species.

Horse safaris

Horse rides can be arranged with a well-established horseback safari operator based just a few minutes from the Tuli Safari Lodge.

Excursions
  • Community visits provide an opportunity to visit the village of Motlabaneng. The tour includes a visit to the local school, a wine-tasting experience and a chance to see traditional basket-weaving.
  • Visits to the village of Lentswe-le-Moriti. Here guests can learn about local customs, enjoy a traditional meal, see the local court and visit the school.
  • A visit to the confluence includes a morning trip to the Eastern section of the reserve to the confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo rivers. This unique and scenic spot is where two  African rivers and three countries meet and guests can enjoy a picnic lunch from the spectacular viewpoint.
  • Day trips to Mapungubwe include return transfers, a guided World Heritage Site tour to Mapungubwe Hill, a guided drive to the confluence site, a tree walk, a packed lunch with refreshments and all park entry fees.
  • Day trips to Molema explore the Western section of the reserve. En-route guests pass sites of historical, cultural and spiritual significance and the fascinating Solomon's Wall. A visit a wetland area is perfect for birding and the dam is famous for the elephants that come there to drink.

Classic Suite

The two classic suites are furnished and designed to the same high standard, with similar internal layouts and features to our tented suites. Outdoor showers in a private courtyard area are unique to the classic suites.

These suites are thatched rooms with traditional brick walls, air conditioning and a shaded patio area. All of the suites can be made up as doubles or twins. Suites can be paired for families or friends who would like some privacy without being too far apart.

The eight tented suites are spacious, airy and elevated. They present themselves as draped canvas walls and roofs over timber frames. Large wrap-around decks provide a relaxing outdoor space with views over the Tuli grounds and surrounding bush.
 
The interiors are a modern interpretation of the classic ‘out of Africa’ décor, with a flowing open plan design. All suites feature an island bed, lounge area, freestanding bath, large separate shower, double basin vanity area, toilet, ample storage space, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer and a safe.

Directions

Directions to the Tuli Safari Lodge in Botswana from Johannesburg (South Africa):

1. From Johannesburg follow the N1 to Polokwane then the R521 to Alldays.
2. At Alldays take a right turn signed to Pont Drift.
3. Cars can be left at the Pont Drift border post, and the short transfer to the Tuli Safari Lodge / Nokalodi Tented Camp is free of charge.
4. If guests prefer to drive to the lodge, the lodge is approx. 5km away and signed from the Botswana border post at Pont Drift, please note that this is not possible when the Limpopo River is flowing.

NB: Please note the Pont Drift border facilities open at 08:00 and close at 16:00 daily. There is a third party permit required for all foreign registered vehicles. The cost is approximately P130 per vehicle, payable at the border (vehicle registration papers required).
