Outstanding Tiger Fishing
The Upper Zambezi is regarded as one of Africa’s premier Tigerfish destinations. Thanks to extensive conservation initiatives within the Sikunga Conservancy, including the removal of more than 500 kilometres of illegal fishing nets, the river now supports thriving populations of indigenous fish.
Experience exciting catch-and-release fishing for the legendary Tigerfish, affectionately known as the “River Dog,” along with Nembwe, several species of bream, and many other freshwater fish. Whether your passion is fly fishing or lure fishing, the Upper Zambezi offers exceptional opportunities to land the trophy fish of a lifetime.
Fishing boats, knowledgeable local guides, and fishing equipment are available for hire (subject to availability and terms and conditions).

A Birdwatcher’s Paradise
With almost 500 recorded bird species, the Eastern Zambezi Region is one of Southern Africa’s premier birding destinations. Keep an eye out for colourful kingfishers, bee-eaters, African fish eagles, herons, and many other spectacular species while exploring the river and surrounding wetlands.
Explore Beyond the River
Just 70 kilometres from the lodge, Botswana’s famous Chobe National Park offers outstanding game viewing, including some of Africa’s largest elephant herds. Guests can also enjoy cultural excursions, village visits, and guided tours showcasing the rich heritage and natural beauty of the region.
Relax on the Zambezi
Unwind with a scenic boat cruise along the Zambezi, choosing from sunrise birding excursions, leisurely daytime cruises with beach braais, or unforgettable sunset cruises.
For a truly unique experience, cool off in the lodge’s caged river pool, allowing you to safely enjoy the refreshing waters of the Zambezi while surrounded by its spectacular natural setting.
