Dining at the Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge

Guests are invited to enjoy a delicious assortment of breakfast from the buffet and may order a cooked English breakfast. Dinner can be served in either the dining room or out on the main deck area – depending on the weather.  All meals are prepared from locally sourced fresh produce where possible and are designed to cater to all requirements.

Swimming Pool

The Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge features a lovely plunge pool which is situated on the main deck area adjacent to the lounge and bar, where guests can cool off and relax.

Kruger National Park Safaris

The Lodge is situated only 40 km away from the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park.  Thrilling safaris in open or closed safari vehicles are the best way to experience the incredible wildlife and nature.

Game Drives

Guests have the opportunity to experience game drives on one of the game reserves located close to the Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge. Enjoy a fantastic off road experience with a ranger in an open safari vehicle and experience close encounters with wild animals in their natural habitat. Encounter, amongst many other animals, lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos and leopards.

Bush Walks

These great walks through the bushveld across the Guernsey Private Nature Reserve with a qualified guide bring visitors close to nature and all the little wonders of the bush.

Full Day Panorama Tours

On this day tour travellers explore the scenic Blyde River Canyon and see the Three Rondavels, Burkes Luck Potholes, Gods Window, The Pinnacle and the Lisbon Falls. Breathtaking views and beautiful landscapes are perfect spots for photo shootings on this tour.

White Water Rafting, Tubing and Boat Cruises

For the adventurous White Water Rafting or Tubing on the Blyde River is an exciting option. A boat cruise on the Blyde Dam is a relaxing tour in a fantastic landscape.

Directions

Access to the Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge

Guests enjoy easy access to the lodge via the Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit. South African Airways offers daily direct flights to and from the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. From Hoedspruit, it is only a 30-minute drive to the Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge. Rental cars are available at the airport. Travellers who do not want to drive themselves are offered airport transfers to the lodge.


Directions from Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit: (approx. 30 minutes)

Turn right at the airport gate on the tar road and proceed 5 km to R40.
You will pass the gate control.
Turn left on R 40 and proceed 15 km and turn left at the sign Guernsey (just after passing the Cheetah Breeding Project on your left).
Proceed to the Guernsey Nature Reserve Gate and follow the tar road for 7 km until the pavement ends.
Continue straight ahead on the dirt road for 4 km until you come to a T-junction.
Turn right and proceed 4 km (passing Tangala gate and Jackalberry gate on your left) and turn left at the sign - Guernsey Private Nature Reserve.
Drive straight until you reach the main gate.
Register at the gate.
You need to pay a Conservation Fee per vehicle.
Enter the reserve and follow the signs to Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge.


Directions from Johannesburg (520 km):

Proceed along the N4 passing Witbank and Middleburg.
Turn left onto the R540 in Belfast.
From Belfast proceed to Dullstroom and then Lydenburg.
From Lydenburg take the R36 to Ohrigstad.
Stay on this road towards the Abel Erasmus Pass and drive through the Strijdom tunnel.
Stay on this road until you reach Hoedspruit (about32 km).
In Hoedspruit turn right on R 40 at the 4-way stop towards White River and proceed for about 22 km.
Turn left at the sign Guernsey (just after passing the Cheetah Breeding Project on your left).
Proceed to the Guernsey Nature Reserve Gate and follow the tar road for 7 km until the pavement ends.
Continue straight ahead on the dirt road for 4 km until you come to a T-junction.
Turn right and proceed 4 km (passing Tangala gate and Jackalberry gate on your left) and turn left at the sign - Guernsey Private Nature Reserve.
Drive straight until you reach the main gate. Register at the gate, enter the reserve and follow the signs to Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge.


Directions from Nelspruit (135 km):

Proceed to White River and drive to Acornhoek on the R40, passing through Hazyview and Bushbuckridge.
Pass through Acornhoek, staying on the R40 for another 5 km.
Turn right onto the Orpen road and drive for 2 km.
Turn left at the Guernsey sign and proceeding through the control gates drive 8.5 km to the Guernsey Private Nature Reserve gate.
Turn right and follow the signs to Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge.


Directions from Tzaneen (160 km):

Proceed on the R71 to Gravelotte.
At Gravelotte, the road becomes the R526.
Drive on the R526 to the T-junction with the R40.
Turn right onto the R40 passing through Mica and Hoedspruit.
Stay on the R40 and proceed for about 20 km (passing the Cheetah Breeding Project on your left) and turn left at the sign Guernsey.
Proceed to the Guernsey Nature Reserve Gate and follow the tar road that turns into a dirt road for about 8 km until you come to a T-junction.
Turn right towards Tangela Gate and proceed on this road for about 4 km.
Pass Jackalberry gate and turn left at the entrance of the Guernsey Private Nature Reserve and follow the signs to Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge.


From Phalaborwa (120 km)

Drive South on the R40 towards Hoedspruit.
Staying on the R40 pass through Hoedspruit and proceed for about 20 km (passing the Cheetah Breeding Project on your left) and turn left at the sign Guernsey.
Proceed to the Guernsey Nature Reserve Gate and follow the tar road that turns into a dirt road for about 8 km until you come to a T-junction.
Turn right towards Tangela Gate and proceed on this road for about 4 km. Pass Jackalberry gate and turn left at the entrance of the Guernsey Private Nature Reserve and follow the signs to Cheetah Paw Eco Lodge.
