Dining at Sanctuary Kusini Lodge

Sanctuary Kusini Lodge offers bush breakfasts, private picnics, sundowners and three-course dinners. Your personal tent attendant will wake you up with a fresh cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, and then a full English and continental breakfast is served in the central area, a three-course lunch is served in camp, or you could enjoy a special bush picnic basket. The views from camp are just sensational, and this is the perfect spot for cocktails and canapés, followed by a three course plated dinner.

Wildlife activities

Morning and afternoon game drives are conducted in customised safari vehicles. The park is home to the giant lion and cheetah populations and is known for excellent leopard sightings. The famous wildebeest migration can be viewed from the lodge and one of the highlights of the year is the calving season where guests can see the arrival of newborn zebra and wildebeest calves. Full day game drives and a bush lunch can also be enjoyed from Sanctuary Kusini Lodge. Guests can also assist the Serengeti Cheetah Project with a special cheetah tracking game drive.

Cosmic Safaris

Guests can enjoy cosmic safaris as the trained guides reveal the constellations with a laser.

Rock Paintings

Guests staying at Sanctuary Kusini Lodge may visit the nearby Gong Rock to see rare Maasai rock paintings.

Hot Air Ballooning

Hot Air Ballooning offers an absolutely, incredible way to witness the annual migration. This seasonal activity can accommodate 16 people at one time. The activity comes at an additional charge and includes champagne and a unique bush breakfast.

Malaria Status and Animals
  • All travellers are advised to take precautions against malaria, at least, six weeks before travelling to the Sanctuary Kusini Lodge. 

    The lodge is in the Serengeti, which is home to the great wildebeest migration, however, there is more to the Serengeti than just the migration. The reserve is also home to lion, leopard, cheetah and rhino amongst a host of others.

Twelve double tents are available at the Sanctuary Kusini Lodge. Each tent is attended by a personal guide and are built around a rocky outcrop on which the camp's communal areas can be found.

Directions

This Lodge is in the southern central area of the Serengeti National Park.
Flying time from Arusha is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to Serengeti South airstrip, and then a 25-minute drive to the camp with game viewing en route. For light aircraft, luggage is limited to 15kg in one soft bag.
Road transfers from Ngorongoro Crater take approximately three hours with game viewing.
