Restaurants

Dining at Mabalingwe Game Lodge

The Tshukudu Restaurant & Kanniedood Ladies Bar serves a variety of delicious meals and drinks, overlooking the WP Wessels Dam. Special Venison meals are available at the Kubu Boma. The Kalahari Oasis Bush Pub is in the game viewing area and features a “shebeen theme” that is open for a drink during the day or a private function at night. The Plaaswinkel and Liquor store serve everything from cold drinks, sweets, magazines, clothing and “oops! I forgot it at home items.”
 

Activities, Sports & Leisure

Game Drives

Game drives, bird drives, night drives and lion feeding drives are on offer at Mabalingwe. Guests are permitted to enter the game viewing area in their personal vehicles while game drives are in an open game drive vehicle. The game drives take guests through some of the most breathtaking landscape, grasslands, rocky ravines and majestic mountaintops.

Night drives led by trained and qualified field guides give guests the opportunity to spot nocturnal animals such as owls, jackal, and bush babies. Lion Feeding Drives allow guests to view the lions during their feeding times.

Horse safaris

A horseback safari allows guests to explore Africa as the first pioneers did. A variety of times for your ride are available from early in the mornings to sunset rides while shorter rides are also offered for children.

Conferences & Events

Mabalingwe Game Lodge conferencing

Nestling in the heart of the bushveld, and less than 2 hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria; the Mabalingwe Game Reserve has become well knows as the perfect location for private functions as well as corporate conferences and team building getaways.

The Tlou conference center has the capacity and flexibility to cater for functions of up to 250 delegates on a full board basis. Guest Accommodation is offered in either twin bedded rooms at the Tlou Lodge camp or in timeshare units. All timeshare camps are within a few minutes drive from the main conference center, which is conveniently close to the Tshukudu a-la-carte and Kubu Boma bush restaurants.

Studio Unit (Loft)

Studio Unit situated at Ingwe Camp

This cozy studio unit is ideal for small families, featuring a queen-size double bed in the upstairs loft and a double sleeper couch in the lounge area, best suited for children aged 12 and under.

The unit can accommodate a maximum of four guests (2 adults and 2 children). It includes a fully equipped kitchen to meet all your self-catering needs.

A bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor, and in some units, the toilet is separate from the bathroom for added convenience.

Step out onto your private patio, complete with a wood/charcoal braai, and enjoy beautiful views of the bush and surrounding greenery.

Each studio has a ground-floor entrance, with access ranging from 1 to 28 stairs, depending on the terrain (level, uphill, or downhill approaches).
Please note: these units are not wheelchair accessible.

Unit sizes range from 61m² to 65m², including the patio.

One Bedroom Chalet (Loft)

One Bedroom Chalet (Loft) situated at Ingwe Camp

This cozy one-bedroom chalet offers comfortable accommodation for up to four guests. The main bedroom features a queen-size double bed, while the upstairs loft area is furnished with two single beds, accessible via interior stairs.

The chalet includes a fully equipped kitchen to meet all your self-catering needs, as well as a bathroom with a shower.

Step outside to enjoy your own private braai area (suitable for wood or charcoal), where you can relax and take in the tranquil views of the surrounding bush and local wildlife.

Conveniently located on the ground floor, the unit has a few steps (approximately three to six) leading up to the entrance.

Two Bedroom Chalet

Two-Bedroom Chalet situated at Kwalata Camp

This comfortable two-bedroom chalet features a queen-size double bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the second bedroom, offering ideal accommodation for up to four adults.

The chalet includes a fully equipped kitchen for all your self-catering needs and a bathroom with a shower for added convenience.

Enjoy your own private braai area (wood or charcoal) and take in the peaceful views of the surrounding bush and wildlife from the patio.

Located on the ground floor, the unit is accessible via 4 to 10 stairs, depending on the specific chalet.
Size: 47m², including the patio.

Two Bedroom Chalet (Loft)

Two-Bedroom Chalet situated at Ingwe, Kubu, Kwalata & Phiri Camps

This spacious two-bedroom chalet comfortably accommodates up to six adults. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size double bed, the second bedroom offers two single beds, and the loft area includes an additional two single beds, accessed via interior stairs.

The unit features two bathrooms - an en-suite with a bath and a second bathroom with a shower- providing convenience and privacy for all guests.

Enjoy the flexibility of a fully equipped kitchen for all your self-catering needs, and unwind at your private braai area (wood or charcoal) while taking in the serene views of the surrounding bush and wildlife.

Each chalet has a ground-floor entrance, with access varying from 0 to 15 stairs, depending on the location and terrain (level, uphill, or downhill approaches).
Four units in this category are wheelchair accessible.

1. Take the N1 to Pietersburg
2. Take the 2nd turn off towards Warmbaths
3. At the T-junction in Warmbaths turn right
4. At the traffic light make a slight left
5. At the T-junction take a slight left
6. Turn right at the Rankins Pass turns off
7. Continue straight for 15kms
8. Take the Cyferfontein turn-off
9. Continue for 5kms. Mabalingwe Nature Reserve will be on your left-hand side
