Wildlife activities
The Waterberg mountain cradles the Mabula Private Game Reserve. The reserve is home to exceptional scenic landscapes as well as an abundance of wildlife species. Big game such as elephant, lion, white rhino, hippo, leopard, and buffalo can be seen as well as the African python, the Nile crocodile, over 300 bird species, numerous plants, reptiles and insect species.
Mabula Game Lodge offers game drives, bush walks, horse safaris, night drives, quad bike safaris, crocodile feeding demonstrations, snake demonstrations, hot air balloon safaris and visits to the cheetah breeding project.
Sports
Some sporting activities are on offer at Mabula Game Reserve. Facilities include tennis courts, a squash court, a volleyball court, table tennis, a games room, archery facilities, swimming pools and paintball.

Mabula Conferencing
Mabula Game Lodge offers no less than seven conference venues including an open-air boardroom. The lodge also offers tailor-made activities for groups.
Conference venues include:
Kingfisher Room - seats 160 people cinema style, 130 schoolroom style and 70 pax in U-Shape seating
Marula Room - seats 80 pax in cinema seating, 70 people schoolroom style and 45 people in U-Shape seating
Baobab Room - seats 50 pax in cinema style seating, 35 people in schoolroom seating and 30 people in a U-Shape

The Family Rooms at the Mabula Game Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and two children under the age of 12, and an additional nightly charge is applicable per child per night as the game drives, and meals are included in the rates when staying at the Mabula Game Lodge.

Forty-seven bedrooms are decorated in an elegant style with an African flavor. Natural, bold colors enhance the ethnic feeling throughout the lodge. The furnishings and mirrors are a deep Imbuia wood, complemented by rich textures in the fabrics and blinds while traditional art dramatically showcase the walls of the bedroom.

Directions to the Mabula Game Lodge from Johannesburg:
1. Take N1 freeway towards Pretoria
2. Turn off onto Pietersburg highway. Follow the road to Bela bela
3. Take the Bela Bela settlers Codrington off ramp.
4. Turn left at yield sign and proceed for 5kms to t-junction turn right
5. Go over bridge and turn left at the garage. follow Thabazimbi road
6. Follow the road past the Forever Resorts Aventura down to the traffic circle. At circle turn left on the Thabazimbi Rooiberg Road and proceeded along for 34kms. Look out for the Mabula Trading Store
7. 500m past the store turn right on rooiberg road
8. Follow Mabula signs for 11kms to Mabula gate.
