5 Luxury Suites: Open plan flowing from bathroom to bedroom (with sliding door) to lounge to deck. All suites have a deck to relax and view the game which frequents the lodge grounds, and all have views of a waterhole. 140m² (1,500ft²) private suites overlooking the bush, with the year-round dam just 100m away. Custom made furnishings, indoor and outdoor showers, free- standing bathtubs, lounge area with a gas fireplace for ambiance on those cold winter nights, luxury bathroom amenities, mini bar & fridge, Tea & Coffee making facilities, ‘Nespresso’ coffee machine, hair dryer, Wi-Fi (bush/satellite technology permitting!), and

2 Luxury Pool Suites: Each Pool Suite is situated on opposite sides of the Main Lodge offering even more privacy. Open plan flowing from bathroom to bedroom (with sliding door) to lounge to deck. All suites have a deck to relax and view the game which frequents the lodge grounds, and all have views of a waterhole. 140m² (1,500ft²) private suites overlooking the bush, with the year-round dam just 100m away. Directions

From Johannesburg

Take the N4 direction Witbank - Pass Emalahleni and Middelburg.
Take the Belfast off ramp (R33/R540).
Once in Belfast town, turn right into Voortrekker Street (at the bottom of the town) and continue straight to Dullstroom on R540.
Drive straight through Dullstroom town and continue to Lydenburg.
Once in Lydenburg turn left into Potgieter Street and follow the road out of town direction Ohrighstad on the R36.
Drive through Ohrighstad and continue on R36 (though the Strydom tunnel and over the Abel Erasmus Pass) R531 to Hoedspruit.
In Hoedspruit, continue straight over the bridge crossing the train line to a four way stop. At the stop turn right. You will get to a 3 way stop, which you will cross over and continue towards Bosbokrand / Bushbuckridge along the R40.
Approx 6 - 7 km out of Hoedspruit, note the Eastgate Airport / Timbavati Private Nature Reserve sign on your left.
At the sign, turn left.
Drive 15km until you reach Timbavati Private Nature Reserve Control Gate.
At the entrance gate, you will be required to pay an entrance fee of R 155, 00 per vehicle (fees subject to change).
Continue on for 13 km, until you see the AVOCA sign to your left.
Turn right off the tar road and onto the dirt road.
Follow the road straight for 17 km then you will come across a 4 way section – carry on straight past this until you see a green gate on your right.
Follow the road to the left, do not turn towards the green gate or drive down the fence line.
Carry on with this road for 1.2 km – you will pass over a small concrete bridge until you get to a sign post where you will see “Makanyi Lodge” written. You will carry on for another 60 m (3rd road turning to the left).
Drive for another 4km until you see an open grass area (old airstrip). Once you’re on the airstrip do not turn left along the strip, but cross over and follow the sign posts to “Makanyi Lodge”.



From Nelspruit

From Nelspruit head out direction White River.
Carry straight through the town of White River and turn left, direction Hazyview, at the last set of traffic lights. At the roundabout carry on straight direction Hazyview.
Follow this road and here the road ends – turn left and go through the town of Hazyview R40.
After Hazyview, you will go through Bushbuckridge and Acornhoek. Do not turn into towns – go straight. Once you passed Acornhoek, you will find a road to your right “Orpen Road” – do not turn in there, but carry on straight for another 2 km. Look out for the Hoedspruit / Phalaborwa sign board. Turn right here and follow this road for approximately 18 - 19 km until you get the turn off to the right “Eastgate Airport / Timbavati Private Nature Reserve “. At this sign, turn right.
