Dining at the Nambiti Plains Private Game Lodge

Dining at the Nambiti Plains Private Game Lodge in KwaZulu-Natal is a mixture of local South African dishes and international flavours.

Only the freshest ingredients are used, and many of the ingredients are grown organically at the lodge. The Nambiti Lodge offers a full buffet breakfast; lunch can be enjoyed either at the main decks or privately on the room veranda while dinner is served in the dining area, in the cosy boma or the Bush.

Private picnic lunches are available for guests in scenic locations.  Vegetarians and any other dietary requirements are cared for as good as possible.

The Nambiti Plains Private Game Lodge, South Africa, is home to the "Big Five"  along with an incredible biodiversity including savannah, grasslands, thornveld and tall acacia trees. This vast game reserve in KwaZulu-Natal is also home to 280 bird species and an array of plains game. Two game drives per day are available to guests staying at the luxurious Nambiti Plains Private Game Lodge.

The Nambiti Game Reserve also offers guests the opportunity to touch and understand the cheetah as well as to interact with other big African cats.

In the summer months, the dams and river are teeming with a variety of Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Blue Gill. Here guests can take a break with a rod in one hand and a refreshing beverage in the other.

Directions

The Nambiti Conservancy is 25 km east of Ladysmith and is only 3.5 hours from Johannesburg, 2.5 hours from Durban and 40 minutes from the Drakensberg.

Directions from Johannesburg to the Nambiti Plains Private Game Lodge:

Head for Ladysmith on the N3.
Once you have entered KwaZulu-Natal via Van Reenen, look out for the Ladysmith Toll off-ramp (at the bottom of Van Reenens Pass).
Turn left and drove toward Ladysmith on the R103. When you arrive in Ladysmith, drive straight through, following the N11 Road to Newcastle.
Follow the N11 through Ladysmith and continue this road.
Ignore the signs that say Nambiti as these will lead you to the South Gate. Wait until you see the sign that says Elandslaagte and turns right at it.
You will then be on the Glencoe Dundee R602. Travel for 2.3kms.
Turn right Elandslaagte P555 (dirt road)
Cross railway line - follow Elandslaagte sign for 200m
Turn left following Elandslaagte sign
Drive 3.8km to Nambiti north gate.

Directions from Durban to the Nambiti Plains Private Game Lodge:

Head for Ladysmith on the N3 - Take the Ladysmith / Bergville Toll Off Ramp.
Turn Right and head for Ladysmith, drive straight through Ladysmith on the N11 Road towards Newcastle from the last robots leaving Ladysmith travel for 20kms.
Follow the N11 through Ladysmith and continue this road.
