Malaria Status and Animals
  • Precautions against malaria are necessary when visiting the Kruger National Park in South Africa since the Nkorho Bush Lodge is in a malaria risk area, mainly during the summer months.  During winter, it is too cold for mosquitoes.

Anti-malaria medication is a personal choice, but do have some very severe after-effects.  We recommend using a personal insect repellent on the skin, especially during game drives and dinner.  It is advisable to consult a doctor before travelling to the Kruger National Park.

Children Policy
  • Children under the age of 12 years pay 50% of the adult rate, and children under the age of 2 stay for free. The Nkorho Bush Lodge in Sabi Sands allows children of all ages in the lodge but has an age restriction of a minimum of six years for children to participate in game drives due to safety reasons.

The Bush lodge's vehicles often get quite close to the animals, and any sudden noises or movement can startle the animals possibly causing an accident.

Babysitting can be arranged for guests, at an additional cost.  Please note that the Nkorho Bush Lodge does not supply baby cots, only beds, and parents bringing children are welcome to bring their personal baby cots with to the lodge.

Children under the age of 16 years may unfortunately not participate in the bush walks, due to safety regulations.
