Dining at the nThambo Tree Camp

The Lodge is in the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa and offers a large dining table where at the end of a busy day, guests enjoy a delicious meal together and can discuss the day's events.

Game drives

During the thrilling game drives, guests travel through a wildlife area rich in wildlife which forms part of the vast Greater Kruger wilderness area of South Africa.  Game drives allow guests to get close to Africa's' magnificent wildlife. Visitors are led by experienced guides in an open 4 x 4 vehicle, which allows for spectacular photo and video opportunities.

The exclusive nThambo Tree Camp in Limpopo also offers night drives.  These night game drives through the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve allow guests to observe the nocturnal animal species which cannot be seen or spotted during the day. Night game also drives increase the chances of seeing a leopard or lion kill.

Bush walks

The adventurous bush walks at the nThambo Tree Camp near the Kruger National Park, South Africa, allow guests to experience the sounds and smells of the African bush up close.  Visitors are led by an experienced guide through the bush where they will get to view the game from a different and more personal angle.

The five luxurious chalets at the nThambo Tree Camp in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve of South Africa have been designed to offer its guests the most unique safari experience.

Each chalet at nThambo has been raised on wooden stilts featuring beautiful wooden flooring.  The chalets are made from materials which are non intrusive on the environment.  The walls were made using canvas and the roofing has been built with thatch.

The chalets offer the option of either a double bed or two single beds making it perfect for couples or friends travelling together. The chalets provide rack cupboards with plenty of hangers and shelving for clothes. All of the chalets also offer an en-suite bathroom which consists of a toilet and shower. To ensure that the camera batteries are always charged and ready for that perfect shot, the chalets all feature plug points as well.

Directions

The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is part of the Greater Kruger National Park and shares unfenced borders with the game rich Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Driving directions from Hazyview to the nThambo Tree Camp:

1. Depart Hazyview and follow R40 towards Klaserie & Hoedspruit.
2. Continue driving through Klaserie.
3. Turn right when you reach the signboard towards Eastgate Airport, Thornybush Reserve, Timbavati Reserve. This will be called Argyle Road.
4. Travel for 300m until you reach a control gate.
5. Go through the control gate
6. From the control gate head directly for the Timbavati Game Reserve Gate. Keep travelling straight until you reach the Josmacs Bush Pub on your right-hand side, this will be roughly 17km down the road.
7. If you look ahead, you will see the new Timbavati Gate. Continue to the gate and inform the guard that you are visiting the Klaserie. He will direct you to the Incheni Gate.
8. When you reach the Incheni Gate, you will need to give the gatekeeper your details, and turn immediately right.
9. Continue straight along the road with the fence on your right. When you reach the fork in the road, you will need to take the middle lane and follow the signs that say Africa on Foot Camp.
10. Drive along this straight dirt road until you see the next Africa on Foot Camp sign.
11. You will turn left at the other Africa on Foot Camp sign
12. At the nThambo Tree, Camp sign board turn left.
13. Continue straight to the Lodge. You must stay in your car at all times and not leave your car until you reach the lodge.
