Game drives

During higher water levels in the Okavango Delta of Botswana, game drives are combined with motorised boating excursions. As Stanley's Camp nestles in a private concession, exciting night game drives to see the many nocturnal animals are conducted.

The evening game drive at Stanley's Camp starts after sundowner cocktails during which spotlights are used to identify nocturnal creatures including the ones which are easier to catch a glimpse of in the dark, such as the hyena and the elusive leopard.

Walking safaris

Stanley's Camp in Botswana is a classic tented camp featuring eight tents which are under a magnificent African Ebony tree on a private concession overlooking the scenic Okavango floodplains.

Each of the canvas safari tents at Stanley's Camp in Botswana is individually designed and furnished with African antiques. A classic and understated elegance which reminds of the explorers and colonialists of the 19th century prevails. Large wooden decks at Stanley's Camp provide private areas where guests can relax in hammocks and enjoy cocktails before dinner is served in the spectacular dining area.

The classic safari tents at Stanley's Camp are on the raised wooden decking. Each luxury tent provides en-suite facilities, a private deck and is equipped with a hairdryer and ceiling fan. There is also a swimming pool. Electricity, 220 volts, is supplied by a combination of a silent packed generator and battery system allowing, therefore, power supply throughout day and night.

During times when the water levels are high, a 50-minute boat transfer is available followed by a five-minute road transfer to Stanley's Camp. Botswana's Stanley's Camp is accessible by air from Maun (15 minutes), Kasane (1 hour 30 minutes) and all other camps which are in the magnificent Okavango Delta. The luggage restriction is 20kg per person in a soft-sided bag for the smaller aircraft.

The Stanleys Camp in Botswana offers a registered private airstrip which is approximately 20 minutes from the camp itself.
