Activities, Sports & Leisure

Swimming

Woodbury Tented Camp has a secluded plunge pool, a lovely place to relax and keep cool.

Game Viewing

An expedition that might be a game drive, searching for that cheetah kill or nocturnal brown hyena; a cruise on the Bushman’s River watching hadeda ibis dipped erratically and noisily to their roost; or a paddle in a canoe serenely scanning the water for a fin-foot, the rarest of waterbirds. For the ultimate feel of the bush, a walk through a land teeming with animals and birdlife.

Birdlife at Amakhala is prolific and 180 species have been recorded. Spectacular and interesting species abound which will enthrall even the casual naturalist. For the serious “birder”, specials include Knysna Turacos's, secretary birds, Denim’s bustard, as well as an array of barbets, woodpeckers and sunbirds.
