Game drives

Game drives through the scenic wilderness of the vast Entabeni Safari Conservancy accompanied by highly trained rangers offer up-close 'Big Five' game viewing including lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, and elephants.
 
The diversity of wildlife and flora in this game reserve of South Africa is astounding, with more than 55 large mammal species, 300 flowers, 50 kinds of grass, 140 trees, 380 birds and innumerable insects, reptiles and amphibians. The bush camps at the Entabeni Game Reserve are located within the reserve making visits by lions and other beasts possible.

Walking safaris

The thrilling walking safaris through the vast Entabeni Safari Conservancy are guided by professional game rangers.  During these walks, guests have the opportunity to learn about the smaller creatures of Africa's wildlife including the "Little Five" and the unique flora found here.

Due to its proximity to Johannesburg, the Entabeni Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province of South Africa has become a new conference and team building 'bush getaway'.

The conference facilities on the Upper Escarpment of the Entabeni Safari Conservancy at the Lakeside and Ravineside Lodges with a smaller facility located on the Lower Escarpment at the Wildside Safari Camp.

The conference facilities are air-conditioned, offer standard conference equipment and provide breakaway areas situated in gardens from where scenic views of the spectacular Waterberg

Malaria Status and Animals
  • The scenic Entabeni Game Reserve in the Waterberg region of South Africa's Limpopo Province is home to many animals including the "Big Five": lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffaloes.

    As this area of South Africa is malaria-free, the Entabeni game lodges are ideal for families travelling with children of all ages.

Children Policy
  • Children are welcome at the Entabeni Game Reserve.  However, children under the age of six years cannot participate in the scheduled game drives.   Depending on the number of kids staying at the Entabeni Game Reserve and the availability of additional vehicles, special game drives for children can be organised.  
     
    Children under the age of 12 years may not join the game walks offered at Entabeni Safari Conservancy. It is to be noted that the game lodges, which are located within the malaria-free Reserve are unfenced therefore extra precautions need to be taken when travelling with children.

The Hanglip Mountain Lodge lies on the lower escarpment of the Entabeni Safari Conservancy. Ten luxury en-suite thatched rooms are available including one Honeymoon Suite. Furthermore, 2 Standard Rooms and one wheelchair friendly room can also be booked.  The bedrooms at the Hanglip Mountain Lodge offer private sun decks with spectacular mountain views and lounge areas with romantic fireplaces. 

This welcoming lodge at Entabeni evokes the romantic Africa of a bygone era. The luxury suites in African Baroque style and offer private sun decks with spectacular views across the wetlands, and vast open plains can be found here. Enchanting gardens provide a paradise of tranquillity.

The Wildside Safari Camp lies on the lower escarpment of the Entabeni Safari Conservancy. Twenty unique en-suite tented chalets including four family tented chalets are available here.

Directions

Please note: Please follow the directions instead of relying on a GPS as game fencing limits access to certain roads in rural areas.
Directions to the Lower Escarpment of the Entabeni Safari Conservancy from Pretoria:

Take the N1 North Highway from Pretoria to Polokwane (Pietersburg).
Keep on the N1 through the Carousel and Kranskop Tollgates.
Travel a further 32km on the N1.
Take the Mookgopong (Naboomspruit) R101A off ramp/exit (Route 289).
Drive 8km to Mookgopong (Naboomspruit).
Drive straight through the town of Mookgopong (Naboomspruit) on the R101A (29km) until you reach the Doorndraai/Sterkrivier turnoff (Entabeni sign).
Turn left and continued for 22km until you reach the Haakdoring turn-off.
Turn left and continued for a further 10km on a gravel road until you reach the large ENTABENI PRIVATE GAME RESERVE sign on your right-hand side and the security entrance gate.

Directions to Entabeni Upper Escarpment from Pretoria:

Take the N1 North Highway from Pretoria to Polokwane (Pietersburg).
Keep on the N1 through the Carousel and Kranskop Tollgates.
Travel a further 32km on the N1.
Take the Mookgopong (Naboomspruit) R101A off ramp/exit (Route 289).
Drive 8km to Mookgopoing (Naboomspruit).
Turn left at the second traffic light in the town centre (R520) on Nelson Mandela Road.
Continue the R520 for 11km until you reach a T-Junction.
Turn left and continued for 500m and turn right at the Marken sign.
Keep on the tar road for a further 24km after which the road becomes a gravel road.
Continue for another 21.5km.
You will see an ENTABENI sign on the right-hand side.
Turn right and drive 3.3km on a gravel road until you reach the security entrance gate.

On site parking facilities are provided for guests.
