Kagga Kamma's Lodge Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. An outdoor boma is also available where guests can enjoy meals under the crystal clear star skies. Dinner is in the form of an a la carte menu.

Nature Drives

Guests visiting the Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve in the Cederberg mountains near Ceres, Western Cape, can enjoy a nature drive around the reserve.  While on the nature drives guests may view some of the smaller animals which are home here. The drivers also share their knowledge of the animals and the plants on the reserve.

Rock Art Tours

The Rock Art Tours provide guests with the opportunity to view ancient bushman living sites.The bushmen paintings which can be seen on this tour date back as far as 6000 years. The guide also shares interesting information about the bushmen culture and arts.

Mini-Observatory

With its remote environment and its crystal clear, pollution-free skies, the Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve in South Africa provides a perfect place from which to enjoy the stars. On the site, a telescope might be available for guests to use to take a closer look at the stars. Guests are encouraged to bring their personal binoculars and telescopes if they own these.

Available Rooms

Cave

The Deluxe Caves at the Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve near Ceres in the Cederberg mountain range, are fully air-conditioned and consist of double beds and en-suite bathrooms. The Deluxe Caves also provide a private terrace where guests can sit and relax and enjoy the fresh country air.

Premium Cave

Kagga Kamma's Premium Caves can accommodate a maximum of two adults. The caves offer air-conditioning, an en-suite bathroom as well as a private terrace. Breathtaking views can be enjoyed from these unique, natural caves which are located in a magnificent setting of the Cederberg.

Honeymoon Cave

The Honeymoon Cave at the Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve, Western Cape, offers its guests a room with a comfortable double bed. The Honeymoon Cave is fully air-conditioned and provides nice views from its private terrace.

Star Suite

The Star Suite is an outdoor bedroom for two guests with no ceilings and no walls.  Sleep surrounded by nature in a most beautiful and remote location.  Guests enjoy this private sleep out in nature under the starry night sky.   This overnight experience is weather dependent.

Guests are taken to this unique location during the late afternoon on quad bikes.  With torches and lanterns, guests are on their own until morning when they return back to the lodge.  Guests enjoy dinner around the fire with stunning panoramic views over the vast Nature Reserve.  The available dinner options include either a packed picnic, a pre-cooked meal or an old fashioned traditional braai.

The Star Suite can only be booked during the warmer summer months (September to April).  Guests staying in the Star Suite have hold a booking at the Lodge in either a Hut or Cave Suite and can then add on to their stay by choosing the new Star Suite at an additional cost.  Guests sleeping outdoors have access to all the facilities at the Main Lodge.

Directions

Driving directions from Cape Town to the Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve in the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa:

1.Take the N1 North towards Worcester
2. When you reach, Worcester takes the turn off to Ceres
3. Once in Ceres travel in the direction of Prince Alfred Hamlet and Citrusdal.
4. Drive through Prince Alfred Hamlet and over the Gydo Pass
5. You will need to turn right at the Kagga Kamma sign just after the small town called Op-die-Berg
6. travel for approximately 18 km and then turn RIGHT at the Kagga Kamma sign
7. After passing the sign, you will proceed for 19 km on the gravel road and up the pass
8. At the top of the pass, you will turn left at the Kagga Kamma sign.
9. Travel along the gravel road for 15 km until you enter the reserve at the control gate.

On site parking facilities are provided for guests.
